Value Added Services

Value Adds Upstream for Downstream Gain

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF VALUE-ADDED SERVICES AT ORIGIN TO SAVE COSTS AT DESTINATION

Century has a full menu of Value-Added Services available at each origin location including: product quality inspection, labeling, rework, kitting, as well as distribution solutions like origin hub and inventory management to name a few. Performing these services at origin instead of destination will often save you costs and time while helping to ensure you have the right product available at the right time and at the lowest cost.

As applicable, Value-Added Services are integrated into Century’s VMS® as solutions to provide seamless data and ensure systematic control of your supply chain. Examples include:

  • Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) Holds – where inspection holds and audit reports are maintained within VMS®. A hold placed in the system sets off an automated process of notifications to the relevant parties as well as a block on proceeding to the next milestone. This solution allows goods to be planned and flow through the Origin Cargo Management process until (and if) there is a hold, so that the shipment can depart on-time as planned once the goods are considered compliant.
  • VMS® -Generated Labels – where carton level labels are systematically generated based on actual shipment data. Accompanied by a carton-level ASN, this provides seamless connectivity between your PO, shipment, and receiving data for efficient tracking.
